Some of the blog ladies that I follow do this Friday Favorites thing, but they focus on their favorite types of things. One often features clothes, one often features music, etc. I really like these posts because it shows me so much about the people who are posting and because often it makes me come across something I want! Hopefully I’ll do this semi-regularly (I’m thinking like once or twice a month) and if you are totally bored by it let me know. Here’s a list of things that I have been inspired by lately!
First, any and every home improvement store garden is inspiring the crap out of me right now. With renovations happening you can imagine we are spending a lot of time in home improvement stores and I usually wander away from whatever Wayne is buying. He always knows to find me here, in my happy place. I’m filling my house full of plants and I won’t apologize for it. #crazyplantlady
I just finished this MOOC (which are free courses taught by amazing Universities) called An Introduction to the U.S. Food System: Perspectives from Public Health taught by Johns Hopkins. If you are at all interested in the environment, sustainability, food, or making the world a better place for your children – I think you would love it as much as I did. Keep an eye out for their next course or find another one you like.
Two weeks ago I attended my third ACPA Annual Convention – and my first one entirely my own dime. I learned some new things, reconnected with some wonderful people, and more importantly was reminded of the huge amount of diversity that exists in this association, on college campuses, and in the world. If you have interest in student affairs, higher education, diversity, or student psychology I highly suggest you consider attending #acpa16 in Montreal.
This tiny house is one of the most beautiful and clean looking that I have ever seen! I yearn for the simple, low-impact life that these tiny houses represent and these are a good reminder. We’ll get there, even in our big ass house.
